Welcome to the GWS LH Associate Training Center!
USGBC is the Certification body for the LEED for Homes (LH) program and has set up Providers to provide training and Quality Assurance of LH Green Raters. Anyone wanting to certify a home in the LH program must work through an LH Provider and work with an LH Green Rater.
GWS is offering a series of On-line Training Sessions (CDs available also) to professionals so they can work with GWS as their Provider. GWS refers to these professionals as Independent GWS LH Associates. GWS LH Associates are independent business professionals providing LH services for their clients. As a GWS Associate you will work directly with your clients, builders, developers or Architects on the LEED for Homes certification and verification process.
GWS will provide the Associate with training and Quality Assurance requirements. This exclusive training teaches you the process of certification, on-site verification requirements, and documentation needed in order to work with GWS as your Provider. The GWS LH Associate training may not transfer to other providers. GWS LH Associate training is required to work with GWS. GWS will charge a $50 annual agreement fee and a $300 per submittal fee. GWS will not set the Associate's fees for the client.
The GWS LH Associate role can be tailored to fit your individual business model. Outside of training and QA, GWS will be as hands on or hands off as you desire. Engineering consulting services, Energy Star, Manual-J load calculations, HVAC Manual-D Design, and Energy Analysis are just some of the services that GWS can provide to support your business.
