Problem House

The diagnostic testing performed by GWS follows a "problem house" protocol that was developed over years of extensive testing of thousands of homes. The diagnostic testing is performed to determine issues that deal with residential structures.

Diagnostic testing can be performed on any house. One would note however, that predominantly our day-to-day activities deal with houses that are part of energy efficient programs such as Energy Star.


But typically, we found our expertise needed in houses that have developed problems prior to a builder joining the Energy Star program or even being exposed to our advanced building techniques. Very often, it is the case that a house will test well, but have other issues, which do not deal with the actual components of the home.
